Capgemini Architects Attend First of a Kind SAP-Microsoft Training
Session strengthens Capgemini's delivery capability of Microsoft enterprise solutions
11 September 2006

Twenty key Capgemini SAP architects, thought leaders and key personnel gathered on the Microsoft campus for a week of intensive training. The summit was initiated and coordinated by the Capgemini-Microsoft Alliance, North America (CMA-NA) as a direct result of meetings with area sales leaders at Sapphire earlier this year. The purpose of the event was to spur the firm’s Microsoft delivery readiness by exposing a select group of high-potential systems architects to MS enterprise products. While the group learned about specific MS offers, the effort focused on Microsoft product inclusion in project multi-vendor solution-stacks: improving the solutions the firm is providing today!
“This is another concrete example of Capgemini’s commitment to its Microsoft partnership. The fact that Capgemini took the initiative to hold this event is unique in our partner community; something no other SI has done” said Colin Boone, Microsoft’s alliance leader for Capgemini and Sogeti.
The sessions were interactive, designed to foster dialogue and open exchange with Microsoft product developers. Dan King, a member of Capgemini’s TXU delivery team, led the way by posing a host of insightful and thought provoking questions, which served as the foundation for several meaningful exchanges between the presenters and the audience.
Joe Coyle oversaw the selection of summit attendees: “I firmly believe that Microsoft products are now enterprise-ready and this translates to tremendous opportunity for the firm. These individuals really scrutinized the speakers and came away with a realistic view of what we can do with Microsoft products right now and a clear vision of what we can do with them in the future. In my view, it’s all about how we can improve our solutions and delivery capabilities today, while developing the technical expertise necessary to create competitive advantage in the future.”
Don Jones, the new leader of the global alliance, addressed the group and provided an overview of his ‘rhythm of the business’ strategy focusing on relationships, field interaction, pipeline, growth initiatives, marketing, and readiness, which framed the event in the context of the organization’s overall strategic vision.
