Cap Gemini Ernst & Young University scoops Corporate University Xchange Award
4 October 2000
Cap Gemini Ernst & Young University in Behoust, France, has won the prestigious Corporate University Xchange European Excellence Award. The University was chosen as one of three corporate universities to win the award, as it exemplifies the best practices in corporate education, incorporating the organisation’s strategic goals into the learning infrastructure, and creating an environment for continuous learning in the workplace.
The award, which is co-sponsored by the Financial Times, was announced last night at the European Corporate Universities Summit 2000: Benchmarks of Excellence conference in London.
Cap Gemini Ernst & Young University met all of the Award criteria, demonstrating that it has aligned corporate learning to the business strategies of the organisation and developed learning alliances with universities such as INSEAD, London Business School and the Henley Management College. It also proved that it utilised technology to create a continuous learning environment, and developed and implemented innovative marketing and branding techniques. The University has also measured the value of the organisation’s investment in education, looking specifically at its impact on retention, increase in enrolment, and knowledge sharing via networks.
The judges were impressed by the co-development of a Virtual Business School (VBS) by Cap Gemini Ernst & Young University and Henley Management College, which enables ‘e-learning’. The VBS includes four Centres, for Leadership Development, Research and Innovation, Connected Learning, and Post-Graduate Learning. Each Centre develops learning programmes, events and activities that provide Cap Gemini Ernst & Young’s people the opportunity to study remotely for a variety of qualifications, including an MBA.
Judges for the Awards included representatives from academia, the Financial Times, Corporate University Xchange, established corporate universities, and for-profit education analysts. The panel was chaired by Jeanne Meister, president of Corporate University Xchange.
