Automotive Industry Findings – 2007 Third-Party Logistics Study
Explore the automotive industry findings from the 12th Annual 3PL Study
Since 1996 this study has helped to identify and track key trends and views of the Third-Party Logistics (3PL) industry from the point of view of the customer. The study results are based on findings from a web-based survey, workshops and desk research.
The study showed that, in general, the automotive industry tends to outsource more logistics services to 3PLs than the overall respondent population. But they are in agreement with the rest of the industries when it comes to the factors considered for selecting a 3PL. Price and quality of service were the answers most often given, although automotive respondents did give more weight to coverage and experience in emerging markets than did the rest of the respondents.
