SAP and Capgemini
In 1993, SAP designated Capgemini as a Leading Global Integration Partner and an alliance was formed. Capgemini was the first to create a NetWeaver roadmap and continues to be the first, and often only, implementation partner for many of SAP’s strategic initiatives.
We worked closely with SAP as they developed the Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) platform, which includes elements of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and is powered by NetWeaver. In fact, Capgemini’s global CTO authored the final chapter of SAP’s “Enterprise Services Architecture” book.
“Capgemini stands out from the others as being more experienced at EA planning for SAP customers by a very large margin. Its Integrated Architecture Framework (IAF) EA Methodology has developed over the past 11 years, and is now a very mature and detailed product. It uses the TOGAF methodology for the higher levels, where it is more complete.”
- Derek Prior and Natalie Burgess, AMR Research: “How Customers Can Manage Enterprise Architecture”.
In the future, as SOA evolves from a new concept to a necessity, Capgemini-SAP initiatives will play a crucial role in expanding the technological capabilities of companies in this area.
Effective collaboration underpins SOA and is a key element of business. We have a long history of collaboration and will use our experience and approach to help SAP achieve challenging targets in the coming years.
